The product

Proof lets you write an agreement, attach scene photos, invite the other person to confirm, and share a read-only /p link or PDF. Confirm and viewing stay free for the other person.

Proof is not a notary, not a court filing, not a certified timestamp service, and not legal advice. Hashes are SHA-256 of the originals we stored. Device-reported captured_at is not notarized.

Accounts

Packet owners sign in with a magic link sent to their email. You are responsible for that inbox. Counterparties can open and confirm a shared link without an account.

Your agreement text

You write the agreement. We store the body as you entered it. Proof does not auto-translate user agreement body text. UI chrome (buttons, labels, these legal pages) may follow the language you pick; the words you typed on the packet stay as typed.

Photos

You may only upload photos you have the right to share. We store originals and a SHA-256. Capture time is device-reported. Photo type, size, and per-packet counts follow the plan shown on the pricing page (Free ~20 photos; Pro ~50; 20 MB per file).

Invites and confirm

Invite sends a share URL (and, when email is configured, a message to the other person). Confirm asks for the email on the packet and the token or one-time code from the invite. After a successful confirm we may email the packet owner a receipt. If email is not configured, the share URL still works and confirm still records.

Plans and payment

Free includes a small monthly packet quota, shorter retention (~90 days), a photo cap, and a small “Made with Proof” mark on the public page. Pro is a paid subscription (priced on the site) via PayPal: higher photo cap, longer retention (2 years or more), no watermark. Quota counts packets you create. We do not charge the counterparty. We do not invent extra legal effect because you paid.

Acceptable use

Do not use Proof for illegal content, malware, or to impersonate someone. Do not scrape or attack the service. We may void or delete packets that break these rules.

Links and confidentiality

A public Proof URL is readable by anyone who has it. You decide who you send it to.

Disclaimers

The service is provided as-is. We do not warrant that records will be accepted by a court, landlord, insurer, or any third party. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you write and upload.

Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, Proof and its operators are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of packets after the retention window for your plan.

Changes

We may update these terms and the product. Continued use after a posted change means you accept the new terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Exclusive venue for disputes is the courts of Hong Kong SAR, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise.
