An AI refund photo is not the piece you shipped

AI refund photopre-shipment photosdamage claim
An AI refund photo is a picture made after the fact. It is not the file you stored before the carton left.
On 26 October 2026, Gulf News reported that Taho Avenue, a cafe in Deira, said a customer submitted an AI-generated photo with a food-delivery refund complaint. The cafe's account, as reported: the order was boba, the picture looked like sago, the sleeve text did not match their branding, and the cups and lids did not match the ones they pack. Business Today carried the same report on 27 October. I was not in that kitchen. I am not calling a verdict. The useful part is narrower: a complaint image can be a different object from the one that left the counter.
What that does not solve
A clever complaint photo does not get fixed by another clever complaint photo. If the only record is a chat screenshot, both sides are arguing about files that can be cropped, re-saved, or generated. Banks and marketplaces still want documents. A generated spill does not become the piece you packed.
Proof is not an AI detector. A SHA-256 hash does not look at a later refund image and say "fake." It only shows whether the file you stored changed after upload. Capture time is whatever the phone reported. Confirming by email is not an identity check. This is not notarization.
What should exist before you ship
- Specs in words. The piece, the count, the finish, any flaw you already flagged.
- Photos of this unit, originals kept. SHA-256 on each file.
- Both Confirms by email. No app for the other side.
- One
/plink that turns read-only after both sides say yes.
That page is what you can still open when a complaint arrives. It does not decide the refund. It stops the argument from starting at zero.
The handoff I use next to YueFetch
I also run YueFetch. Custom jewelry leaves Guangdong after real desk photos, not a render. For that handoff I want the centimeters and those photos on one link. Proof is not the YueFetch checkout. The public sample is a key handover: sample Proof. For a shopper job, start at a shopper packet. If you want the quote itself, that form is yuefetch.com/request.
Free is 3 packets a month. Pro is $24 a month or $240 a year. The person you invite does not pay to view or Confirm. Questions: hello@yuefetch.com.
The limit
A news story about a drink photo does not make Proof a fraud lab, and a hash does not prove who held the camera. It keeps the file you both confirmed before the tape went on.
