PACK EXPO International is in Chicago this week, 18–21 October 2026. Packaging World published a supplier note that Shurtape is showing case-sealing tape and talking about the seal as the overlooked part of the carton. About 48,000 packaging people. Booth talk about waste, downtime, and how the tape holds.
I make Proof. I do not sell tape. The useful line from that show, for remote goods, is simpler: the seal is the last honest moment. After the tape goes on, the buyer only has a tracking number and whatever chat screenshot they saved.
What should exist before the seal
- Specs in words. Length, color, count, finish, the rule that you ship only after both Confirm.
- Photos of this piece. Overall, scale, detail, any defect. Originals kept. SHA-256 on each file.
- Both Confirms by email. No app for the other side.
- One
/plink that turns read-only after both sides say yes.
That is a shared record. It is not notarization. Capture time is whatever the phone reports. A hash shows whether the stored file changed after upload. It does not prove who held the camera.
Why a trade-show week matters
Holiday cartons pile up in October. Makers and personal shoppers tape faster. "Not as described" disputes also pile up in January, when the chat thread is the only evidence. A show about sealing performance does not fix that. A page both people confirmed before the tape does.
